In the summer 2002, three reggae enthusiasts: Ghetto Rudi, Ya' Man from Skopje and Rootboy from Struga have formed the Active Rasta Selectors group. They actively started to spread the reggae vibes and the reggae culture in Macedonia. They made reggae shows in several radios in Skopje and Struga and also they popularized the reggae and Rasta culture through publishing articles, mostly in the monthly magazine for music, film and urban culture "“Urban Magazine”., and the university students magazine “Studentski Zbor”. The squad played their music in Skopje, Tetovo, Veles, Gostivar, etc.

The big success came in the winter season 2002/2003, playing their music in the club “Cachette” as resident selectors. This success laid the foundations for the reggae culture with the creation of the real reggae music fans. Unfortunately the distance between Skopje and Struga, as well as the different views about the types of reggae needed to be presented to the fans have brought changes in the squad. As a result of this, Rootboy left the squad, but the Active Rasta Selectors continued with their activities.

They continued to play in clubs such as “Apolon” where they played every Friday in the period October 2003 until April 2004, and also in Bizar café, as well as some chill out floors on techno parties. One of the most successful DJ-sets was on the “Peace Unlimited” festival in November 2004.
