MaYa MoUsE is the newest
names on the Macedonian electronic scene.
Maya is an urban girl from Skopje, who lives in the same gloomy reality
of this urban jungle as we all do, but with one distinction, she uses it
as her music inspiration.
She was growing up listening punk and post-punk music, avoiding to be
contaminated by the increasing influence of the turbo-folk. This was her
initial inspiration to spend years in playing bass guitar in punk and
later in rock bands with which she had performed eight times on a local
level.
The cult movies and the electronic and rock bands from the last decade
are the grounds where the bases of MaYa MoUsE's music are placed.
Furthermore they helped her to develop herself into a complete musician
who can find a way to completely express herself with ease.
Her skilled balancing between the radical underground and the orthodox
pop enabled her in building a music expression that corresponds with the
things she lives, sees and listens.
Since she is the author of the entire music, which she makes in her own
room and on her own computer, the decision to represent her to the
audience only by the music she makes without exposing her as some pop or
rock icon came very natural. Her presence in public will be just as much
to see that this music is created by a person and not by some
super-computer that simulates a musician.
Creativity above personality and ego is a concept, which is accepted
only by few, but MaYa MoUsE accepts it as something natural, not as
something rare.
MaYa MoUsE has her own website through which she will contact with her
audience and the media. Live concerts are not excluded, although the
accent will be on the virtual Internet Live Broadcasting that is a part
of the contemporary living. Her first album "MaYa MoUsE" is
released under the label of Lithium Records, produced by Goran Trajkoski,
designed by f. Metodij Zlatanov, photography-Darko Basevski, manager and
co-producer Janko Ilkovski.
Maya is not a part of any movement, group, sub cultural movement or
organized activities of social or cultural character. Any attempts to
place Maya into any kind of frames are rejected as unfounded.
